Pukalani Superette is a friendly mix of just about everything a person needs from a snack to a smile. Maybe that’s why the little store on the corner of Old Haleakala Highway and Makawao Avenue bustles with energy. One of the last of Maui’s true mom-and-pop establishments, the Superette is almost 100 years young! Pukalani Superette, or Puk Sup (Pook Soop) as regulars have nicknamed the store, takes pride in supporting local in whichever way they can, from locally grown produce to locally raised meat to locally made products. They understand that in order to be a community staple, they need to in turn support the community they are in.
